We would love to see you show and perform your
work on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4.
This year we have a two-part form. Please read our
Artist Information, then click on the following links
to access both payment and the application itself.
ARTIST QUALIFICATIONS:
All artists are welcome to apply.
ARTIST PLACEMENT:
For those artists who need a booth/gallery/performance space, the RAW staff will
make an effort to place you in the best place for your art.
LOCATION:
Ravenswood Art Walk takes place on the east and west sides of Ravenswood Ave.,
from Cornelia St. on the south to Lawrence Ave. on the north. Galleries outside our
boundaries may also apply to exhibit, and the RAW staff will consider each o
those applications on an individual basis.
ARTIST CONTACT:
All participating artists are required to provide a URL for their personal or gallery
website. If an artist does not have a website, we will publish your email address
so visitors to our site may contact you directly.
ARTIST LISTING:
On our website, you will be listed in alphabetical order by your last name. For
example, ‘Jane Smith’, an artist exhibiting at ‘Pebble Studios’, will be listed by
‘Smith”. Each gallery and booth space will be in a separate listing. Your fans will
find you through looking for your last name, then noting the gallery next to it.
ART SUBMISSION TO ART WALK:
We ask that each registering artist take a professional-looking photo of one piece
of their work and submit it to us. Those photos will be included in an online gallery,
with each piece of art attributed to that artist. We find that our visitors use the
website to search for their favorite artists during the year, so we encourage
everyone who wants to sell more work to submit a photo.
OPTIONAL RAW GALLERY SUBMISSION:
Accepted artists may be asked to participate in a gallery sampling of featured
pieces. We will contact you about this at a later date.
WEB LINKING:
Where possible, RAW will be directly linking to your websites, which will bring you
increased consumer traffic. We expect you to do the same for us, to help make the
2009 Art Walk better than ever! If you have your own website, please link to
ravenswoodartwalk.com. If you are on a shared space, such as etsy.com, please
follow their directions to link to us.
DEADLINES:
Artist registration deadline: July 1
Any artists and/or businesses and/or galleries that have not paid by 7/1/09
will not be listed in the RAW map or in any RAW literature. Any artists and/or
businesses and/or galleries that have not paid by 9/1/09 will not be allowed
to set-up or participate in the weekend events.
FEES:
$35 - Artists who want to open a Ravenswood area studio to Art Walk visitors.
$35 - Artists who do not have a Ravenswood area studio and want to exhibit in
one of our spaces.
$35 - Performance artists/groups who want to perform during RAW, including but
not limited to:
•film showings
•music performances
•dance performances
•poetry reading
•demonstrations by media artists
$35 - Artists whose medium doesn’t fall in any of the above categories.
ARTIST GROUPING:
The fees shown above are for one gallery, artist, or organized group.
We will not permit more than one artist to show with only one application.
If we find that additional artists have joined the applicant, we will ask
the entire group to leave. The application fees will not be refunded.
GALLERY FEES:
This year, RAW is charging per artist. Our gallery fee is dependent on
the number of artists who will be showing at a gallery, at $35/artist.
For example, a gallery showing 4 artists will pay 4 x $35 = $140.
Each artist will receive an individual listing on our website, and each
gallery will be listed as well.
